Our final presentation for Aesop’s myths

Our pupils working in three groups presented on Monday , the 5th of March three of Aesop’s myths to the whole school and teaching staff, parents but also teachers and pupils from neighborig schools.

Aesop was a Greek fabulist and story teller credited with a number of myths now collectively known as Aesop’s myths. Although his existence remains unclear and no writings by him survive, numerous tales credited to him were gathered across the centuries and in many languages in a storytelling tradition that continues to this day. Many of the tales are characterized by animals and inanimate objects that speak, solve problems, and generally have human characteristics. (wikipedia)

The dance club presented the tail “The lion and the mouse” as a musical, the art club presented the  tail “The sheperd liar” as a mappet show and the theatre club presented the tail “The ant and the cicada ” in the form of a movie. The groups cooperated with each other for costumes, music and acting advice. We hope you enjoy our presentation as we enjoed working on it!

Greek folklore exhibition

The 1st Primary school of Schimatri  organized on Wednesday 17 January in the school’s classroom, an exhibition of objects of folklore art titled “The chest of folk art”.

The aim of the exhibition was to bring children into contact with elements of our cultural heritage, to learn about different types of art and more specifically to see utilitarian or decorative objects of an earlier era.

The implementation of the exhibition was divided into two parts. In the first part, both the students of the E and F classes of the school and the teachers collected objects that are examples of folk art and in the second place they placed these objects in the hall of events in a way that reminds a folklore museum room.

The exhibition was open to the public, since not only the students of the two classes but also the whole school and the parents of the children could attend. Class children were divided into two groups. The first group included the A and B classes and the second group the C and D classes. The students of the E and F classes were those responsible for running the exhibition and those who made the presentation of the program.

The presentation included the description of the exhibits by the children, the display of folk art items they had made, embroidery, paper costumes embroidered with threads, painting paintings with colored threads in black cardboard. In addition, technology has been used to display art slides through a computer and view photos.

In the first group, the children read a fairy tale titled “The Mother-Good and the 12 months”, followed by painting by groups and in the second group the children showed the steps of dancing with the help of the song “45 handworkers” they watched the legend for Arta’s bridge. The presentation of the program lasted from 8 in the morning until 2 noon and the school welcomed the director of the school Mr. Stratis Eugenia. The coordination of the whole process and the preparation was undertaken by the teachers of Aleksi Eleni, Notis Stasini, Siarapi Katerina, Palaiologou Nafsika and under the direction of Mrs. Theodoridou Maria.

Participation on a dance festival

On the 7th & 8th of June 2017 succesfully took place the 1st Dancing Meeting of Elementary Schools of N. Viotia that organized the 1st Primary School of Thebes .
Dances and musicals from all over Greece were presented at Moschopodi Thiva by pupils of Primary Schools of our prefecture. The young dancers demonstrated their dancing skills, with their parents and dancers guiding the new generation, which is supposed to preserve the rich cultural and cultural heritage of our country.

Ous school, the 1st Primary School of Schimatari participated by pupils of the 4th & 5th grades under the guidance of  the teachers Aleksaki Eleni and Noti Stasini who was responsible  for the  music accompaniment of our school dance team.

We thank the organizers for the invitation and the School Committee of the Municipality of Tanagra for the provision of the bus.

Open day in Greece after the Croatian workshop

At the beginning of April and in particular from 4 to 9 April, 6 students and 3 teachers from our school participated in the 2nd Transnational Laboratory in Darda, Croatia, together with pupils and teachers from Poland, Slovenia and Croatia.

So we organized an open day on Friday May 5 for students, teachers and parents of our school so that everyone who participated in the workshop shared with us their experiences, the benefits of their participation and their achievements.

In the first part of the event, the teachers who participated, Alexaki Eleni, Ms. Noti Stasini and Mrs. Mavrigopoulou Charisia, presented us with the objectives of the workshop and its evaluation as it was formed through the questionnaire completed by all participants from each country. Students Papaioannou Georgios, Zacharakis Efrem – Ioannis, Jasan Preet Kaur, Hantzi Elena, Alexaki Panagiota and Fokidis Nikitas presented us with the program every day, the excursions and the educational activities in which they participated. In the end, they shared their feelings about all this unprecedented experience.
In the second part of Open Day, the six students became teachers and taught us the art of straw-making. Thus, pupils of D & E Stretta took their own straw sculptures by working in groups of 3-4 individuals and always with the help and guidance of their classmates who participated in the workshop in Croatia.

2nd TPM in Slovenia

The 2nd transnational project  meeting of coordinators took place in Kamnik, Slovenia,  within the framework of the approved Erasmus + European program “Through artistic abilities to develop basic skills”  from 28 to 30 June 2017. The coordinators from Poland, Greece, Croatia and Slovenia met and key issues as well as  its evaluation tools on the course of the program so far were discussed and resolved.

During their stay to Kamnik, the three coordinators from Poland, Croatia and Greece had the opportunity to get acquainted with elements of  the Slovenian culture, tasting traditional recipes, participating in traditional games and visiting museums and workshops where traditional Slovenian products were produced.

Mrs Evgenia Strati addressed the issue of participation to European programs during the meeting of Headteachers at Darda Croatia.
